There is always a race…
Like many, I have long been attracted to the pure notion of competition.
It starts when you are young, and you quickly realise that there is always someone quicker, bigger or smarter.
You need to work out a way.
Often the prize is vague, or personal, and sometimes you are underwhelmed when you achieve it, but that never stops you lining up for the next race.
Then you realise, velocity is never the answer for complexity…
…and you slow down.

The ‘arrival’ people create all the commotion that distracts from the critical work of the ‘growers’, who are playing a much bigger and far more important game, energised by all its possibilities, and significantly, not overwhelmed by its ambiguity.read more
